What will you take on the Mayflower?

Look at the letter my children received in the mail last week! They were so excited! 🙂

The kids had to decide what they might take for a long trip NOW. We had all kinds of interesting things we were bringing. 🙂

After we discussed what we would like to bring with us, we talked about what the Pilgrims actually did bring. Mrs. Linda had a scavenger hunt prepared with clues to some of the items that the Pilgrims may have had with them. The kids had a lot of fun finding a Bible, dishes, candles, fabric, seeds for planting, and several other items.

This was a fun activity that is sure to help the kids remember the Mayflower and what a desperate situation they were in after many long days aboard a ship. We are really enjoying making history come alive this year!! I am learning so much, probably more than my kids are learning!!
