This month my friend Jennifer had the pleasure of planning our history activities. 🙂 She planned a fun lesson for the kids to help them remember who the minutemen WERE and WHAT they did!!
First, the boys pretended to be on the floor sleeping.
Then, the girls ran in saying, “The redcoats are coming! The redcoats are coming!” They immediately jumped up and started getting dressed (in their daddy’s clothing) to see if they could get DRESSED and READY TO GO in under a minute!!
We all decided that it would have been very hard to be a minuteman soldier during the American Revolutionary war! To be shocked out of your sleep, ready to go in a few moments time, head out to war…it was all so fast!!
I think this activity was a great learning activity for the kids! I am pretty sure they will remember who the minutemen were and what their role was during the war!
