My mother-in-law introduced me to the tomb cake years ago, I think when I was still dating my now husband. One other year I tried it and it kinda flopped…so this year I was excited to have one that turned out somewhat decent! I just baked a cake in a bundt pan and cut it in half to set it on it’s side and look like a “tomb” with an opening.
I colored coconut green for the grass and put a small piece of white felt inside the EMPTY tomb to represent Jesus’ grave wrappings.
HE IS RISEN!!

Very cool! I used green coconut as well around a lamb cake I made for Easter. There are so many wonderful ideas out there!

I make empty tombs with doughnuts and doughnut holes. I shared how on my blog today and in that post included your picture of your tomb cake and a link to your post. Hope to send some traffic your way. I am off to look thru more of your blog.
