I decided at the last minute to do Beth Moore’s summer Bible study with Jennifer Rothschild’s book, Me, Myself and Lies. I hesitated for weeks because I wanted a group to do it with. But, with our newly crazy schedule (ie Hawaii trip) and not really getting it together with anyone else, I decided to go for it by myself! I may be off of Beth Moore’s schedule, but that’s ok. I really felt the Lord nudging me to do this study when I read the description AND when I heard Jennifer do her intro/description of the study. Sounds like something that would be very good for me…the way too deep and way too negative thinker. 🙂

Beth Moore’s kick-off to the study video!
Now, on Beth Moore’s kick-off post, she mentioned Psalm 19. So, I flipped right on over…and found some neat encouragement on digging in to God’s word. You may know the last verse from this chapter: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You, O God.” This is a key verse that Jennifer uses to remind us that the things we meditate (or think) on and the words we say to ourselves are usually NOT the words that God would say about us.
The rest of the chapter has some great verses in it too. Check it out! You will find that God tells us that His word is perfect, converting the soul, sure, making wise the simple, right, rejoicing the heart, pure, enlightening the eyes, clean, enduring forever, to be desired more than gold…
I’m going to be praying through Psalm 19 and asking God to show me where my thoughts (in my thought closet) are not the thoughts He would have for me…and praying fervently that God would REPLACE those negative pictures in my head with truths from HIS WORD.
