We are starting our TENTH WEEK of reading the Bible in 90 days! We are well over halfway through now and I know there are many of us needing an extra BOOST of encouragement to get through the last 26 days or so!!
For those of you who find the old testament difficult to read and understand (like me) you will be happy to know that this week we start the new testament!! woo-hoo!! I’ve been excited to get into the gospels for awhile now!
Before we leave the old testament, though, I want to share with you one conviction I had as I was reading through the major and minor prophets of the old testament.
The prophets of the old testament truly and deeply grieved over the sins of their people and their land. The fasted, prayed, wore ashes and sackcloth…intense grieving over SIN.
When is the last time you grieved over a sin in your life?
I’m speaking to myself here most of all. I know the Lord used these passages to remind me of my sin, my need for the gospel and for a Savior on a daily basis. Yes, I’m saved…but yes, I’m STILL NEEDY. Very needy. And very much desperate for a Savior.
I want to be truly broken over the things in my life that keep me from close relationship with God.
Join me in praying that we will allow God to break our hearts for our sin and for the things that break His heart.
