I’m so excited to share with you a brand new kids Bible called the Deep Blue Kids Bible , CEB (Common English Bible Translation.)
The Deep Blue Kids Bible is a unique children’s Bible, unlike most of the ones we have read or had in our own home. If you’ve read here for long, you know that I love children’s books, devotionals, Bibles and anything of the sort. This Bible was designed for children between 7-12 yrs of age, so perfect for our household to try out!
This Bible is unique because it is not just Bible stories. It’s the entire Bible! However, there are 3 kid-characters {Asia, Edgar and Kat} that take you on an adventure through the Bible discovering the stories, characters and lessons from the Bible.
A few other features unique to this Bible:
- Life Preservers ~ responses to tough questions & difficult passages
- Lighthouses ~ notes discussing core faith concepts
- Did You Know? fascinating trivia, customs & practices
- Sailboats ~ notes emphasizing positive character traits
- Umbrellas ~ notes addressing challenging situations & emotions
- Bet You Can! challenges for kids to develop language skills & encourage Bible reading
Here are a few little glimpses into what the Bible looks like on the inside, I took these pictures on my phone.
Usually when I am looking at a Bible with a translation I am not familiar with, I like to go to some of my favorite passages and see what they read like in this particular version. So, I thought I would share with you Psalm 23 from this version, Common English Bible translation.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He lets me rest in grassy meadows;
he leads me to restful waters;
he keeps me alive.
He guides me in proper paths
for the sake of his good name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger because you are with me.
Your rod and your staff – they protect me.
You set a table for me right in front of my enemies.
You bathe my head in oil – my cup is so full it spills over!
Yes, goodness and faithful love
will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the Lord’s house as long as I live.
What I particularly like about this Bible is that I can use this for my girls independently. My girls are 10 and 9yrs old and we homeschool. So, I think I will try to use this Bible in the mornings as part of their daily routine. Without any planning on my part, I can have them read a chapter and whatever part of the Bible they are reading in, they will find questions, mini-devotions, explanations and other helps to give them a deeper understanding of the passage. My girls are at the perfect age to use this Bible independently!
I hope you’ll check out this new children’s Bible! 🙂
