All Your Promises Are Yes And Amen

Have you ever wondered if a promise was really for you? The one I’ve struggled with off and on for most of my entire adult life is believing that in even MY weakness HE IS STRONG. 

Maybe you read the verses/posts I share everyday and think oh how strong I must be. You know I post those for myself, right?  I only share online from the overflow of what God is doing in my own heart. And y’all. My flesh is so, so weak. I have languished and grieved over my weakness to the point of making myself sick. Too much self reflection does that. Why can’t I get over this? Why do I struggle with this? Why am I so sensitive? Why do I let this person bother me? Why can’t I just have confidence to do this thing? 


In my weakness He is strong. His grace is sufficient. He makes beauty from ashes…even the ashes of insecurity and weakness and every yucky, broken part of me that I hate to even admit to you. 


But when I spend more time looking at my mistakes than I do HIS GRACE, I’m missing out. The grace is there and it is MORE than sufficient but I have to choose it. I have to choose to believe God and what He says about me. I have to choose to believe and meditate upon the Truth more than I fixate on my weaknesses. I have to claim those promises as mine. Because they are.

What If We Spent the Next 40 Days Cultivating Praise?

What would our lives look like in 40 days if we spent them cultivating PRAISE, GRATITUDE and JOY and not complaints and broken records of failure that often run through our minds?

Praise needs cultivating. Gratitude needs cultivating. Joy needs cultivating. “Could it be that one of Satan’s major strategies is to divert us from praise? After all, he knows that God delights in our praise, and that doesn’t exactly make him happy. He also detests the rich benefits that praise brings to us and others.” Ruth Meyers

I’m a day late and a dollar short for starting Lent on time (February 14th) but isn’t that what Lent is all about? Lent is about offering myself to Him in all my weakness and depending on His strength. When I am weak, He is strong.

Think About Such Things (printable)

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things… And the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9

Think about such things.

This passage is so powerful. If we lived it out our lives would truly be transformed. God’s Word says that we can be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our minds. (Rom. 12) and THIS passage tells us how to do it.

Mindset matters.

And God’s Word confirms that what we think about is very powerful. Try reading and meditating on Philippians 4:4-8 for even 68 seconds and see if you can re-focus your mind. Get the negative broken records & lies of the enemy out of your head by REPLACING them with truth. You can do it!  But to replace the lies with truth you have to be FILLING YOUR MIND with truth!!

Think about such things…whatever things are true…and the God of PEACE will be with you.

We need reminders. We need to write the Word. Pray the Word. Hang the Word around our homes. Carry index cards in our hands. Turn up the praise music. Speak the Word aloud.

Fear is a Liar

When I first heard this song it stopped me in my tracks. YES. Fear IS a liar. The enemy wants nothing more than for us to be stuck in our fears and believing the lies of the enemy.

But, friend, LOVE ALWAYS WINS. Truth always prevails. We have VICTORY in JESUS. And Jesus alone. We must PICK UP our armor and use it. We must not sit idly by while the enemy lies to us. We are not defeated. We are not stuck. We are not failures.

You are a new creation in Christ.

You are loved & chosen.

There are new mercies every morning.

His grace is sufficient.
