“My fulfillment depends on my answer…”
Whew. Convicting.
“If I trust Him, I will obey Him gladly.”
[Elisabeth Elliot, Joyful Surrender]
Obedience in the face of disappointing others is h.a.r.d.
Especially when you’ve spent your whole life trying to please people.
Obedience when it’s hard to say yes is hard.
Obedience when it’s hard to say no is hard.
But friends, you will never experience the fulfillment or the fruit of obedience if you don’t take that step. I have learned it the hard way. Time and time again. And I still mess it up. I don’t claim to have achieved some level of spirituality in this—far from it!
But every single little yes makes the next bigger yes a tiny bit easier.
And oh, the freedom.
The peace.
The fulfillment.
When you say YES to Him.

Are you not hearing from Him?
Unsure what He’s asking you to be obedient in?
Start here:
- Open your Bible. Every day.
Meet with Him. He speaks to us through His Word. - Go through the Experiencing God workbook.
Go slowly if you need to—but go. It will change your life.
You’re not alone in this. You’re not behind.
But your answer does matter.
Say yes. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.
