Some days during this 31 day series I may not share a lengthy post on praying for our children, but possibly just a prayer from Scripture or a longer prayer I have come across.
Since today is Monday, I’m going to use this 31 Days post AND my regular Gift List post together!! Each Monday, for a few years now, I have been counting my blessings with Ann at A Holy Experience. This habit of graditude has been a perspective changer for me.
As I seek to pray more intentionally and faithfully for my children, I am also learning to be thankful for it all. Parenting isn’t easy. But, there are always so many wonderful reasons I have to be thankful for my children…
Thank You, God, for the countless blessings you’ve given me through my kids…
toothless smiles
big bear hugs
the “I love you” sign that has become a household tradition
watching my children play with their daddy
hearing my kids as they have learned to sound out that first word
my children’s wildly different personalities
all the humbling and brokenness and goodness God has brought me through my children
listening to my children recite scripture
hearing my girls practice piano
learning together with my kids (home school)
nature walks
reading on my bed in the mornings together
learning what grace is all about
all the arts and crafts we’ve done together
hearing (& saying) the words “I love you”
#2023 – 2036
Lord and Giver of these gifts, may {my child} be joyful always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for her in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:16.
