My friend Linda planned a fun language arts-type lesson for our astronomy time last week! We did Mad Libs about the planet Saturn! The kids really had a good time with it! And of course, the silliness made it more fun. 🙂
First, we had all the kids name lots of nouns, verbs and adjectives. We wrote these down and put them into these bags:

Then, we read the paragraph about Saturn with words pulled from the bags. Fun and silliness!! Black, high heeled shoes on Saturn? Rings made of O’Charleys? Ha!!
After we finished the silly version, we went back and figured out the correct terms for each blank…a great (and fun) review of our learning about Saturn!!
