Verse to Pray for Our Home
Romans 12:18-21
“Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.” (MSG)
Prayer:
Lord, help me to surprise those around me with goodness and generosity. May I look like You as I love those in need.

I would LOVE to hear from you in the comments! How are you liking the book? What struck you the most??
Chapter 7 discusses companionship and truly listening to the needs of others. Some need someone to really listen, some need to be left alone, some need to know that someone cares. Each of us have individual needs and we must come out of ourselves to listen for these needs when others share them!
I love that in this chapter, the author not only mentions listening, but PRAYING.
“His life of prayer has poured a hospitable spirit into him.” Radical Hospitality, p. 173
I have found in my own life that when I pray the prayer, “Lord, break my heart for what breaks Yours…” He answers.
Why don’t we pray that God would SHOW US how to minister to others? How to reach out to someone in need? How to live a more hospitable life? To make us more sensitive to the needs of others? To know ways to actually MEET a practical need for someone?
Let’s commit to adding this to our prayer list and see what God does!

Such a great thing to be “practical” help when someone is in need. Thank you for these prayers for our homes and great advice.
