We finished up our tree and leaf unit today because tomorrow we won’t be doing school. We had a great week learning about trees and doing fun fall leaf crafts. Here is the lapbook we finished today.
The front of our lapbooks
The inside of our lapbook: on the right hand side is a fall acrostic poem we did together, labeling the parts of a leaf from HSS and a leaf poem I printed off.
This is the blue extension when it opens, a fall tree craft with torn paper. Then we made a book of a few of the leaves we found in our yard. I just printed off the cover of the book myself and then stapled it to the drawings the girls did.
We have several silver maples in our yard! These are Hannah’s tracings of the actual leaves.
We also have a black oak in our backyard.
We also have a pretty dogwood in our backyard
The front of the blue extension is a poem we learned this week about trees. I love the last line: poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree! I just typed up the words to the poem, printed it off and had the girls draw a tree underneath
The back of the lapbook is a fall colors page that Ami from HSS created.
