How do you do it?
How do you go on with “normal” life when someone you love has just been handcuffed and carried away to jail?
How do you just pick up a book on insecurity and read it? The subject matter seemed so important yesterday.
How do you tell your children, “oh, your aunt in in jail now, ok…let’s go to the park!”
Life goes on for me and my family. But not for her. It doesn’t seem fair. I don’t deserve to be out here and her in there.
And, what can you DO for a loved on in jail? I don’t think visiting is even much of an option at this point…
I feel so helpless. And this is totally not about me…
{For those who have been praying…
The trial for our sister-in-law (Melissa’s and mine) did not go well. She was convicted on 2 counts and was taken away in handcuffs last night. Her lawyers were shocked and felt that things had gone well. There were many lies brought to light that we felt would have surely proven her innocence. We are also in shock. This is heartbreaking on so many levels.
Please continue praying for Macy. Pray for my inlaws. Pray for Macy’s 3 small children. I just almost don’t even know what to ask you to pray for…but God will lead us in our prayers. We can be praying that the judge will have mercy in her sentencing. We can begin praying about the appeal process, but we know this could take even 2 years, she will remain in prison the entire time.
We are heartbroken, but we trust God. We know He is sovereign and must have a plan and purpose in all of this.}
If any of you have experience with trying to reach out to a family member in prison, please email me or leave a comment. I am praying that God would reveal to us ways we can love on her even through this.

Candace, I am with you – there has to be something that we can do. There are no words, and yes we can pray, but hopefully someone will have some ideas of something else we can do. Question: what kinds of things can she have that we could mail to her: cards, notes, magazines, books, something to let her know that we care, we love her and have not forgotten her. I am at a loss of what to say, because there are no words. I am at a loss of things that we can send her, and hope that some people out there will help us out on that. Many, many hugs and thoughts prayers to your family.
