I often find myself saying that I’m thankful for the “little things.” But, the more “little things” I list each week, the more I realize that they aren’t really so little…those “little things” make up such a big part of my life, they bring me joy amidst the tears, they bring me moments of peace even in the storms, they make me smile when the other events of the day might not have led to smiles. Those “little things” and little moments throughout my day truly are so very big in my mind…and I’m praying that the Lord would help me to dwell on those lovely little moments and not let my focus land on the negative circumstances.
So, for today, I’m thankful for…
clouds that give us cover from the hot sun
beautiful rainy afternoon
a fun field trip to the fire station
watching Caleb dress up as a firefighter alllll week
hearing Caleb fight those fires in our house 🙂
a new kitten who has brought us many laughs (this tiny thing is very spunky!!)
encouraging words
prayers of others, for others
small steps of progress
new curriculum (so exciting!)
finishing yet another fabulous book!! (I can’t believe how many good books there are…and how little time there is!) 🙂 The Noticer: Sometimes, all a person needs is a little perspective.
working on a new schedule for our school mornings
starting a new t-ball season
unexpected money given to us
allowing us to get an unexpected new tv! (our hand-me-down tv was slowly dying…and I was excited to see hubby pick out a tv that he liked! maybe a little bigger than I would have chosen, but I’m happy that he is happy because he NEVER picks out or buys things for himself!)
new items to help decorate our home (it’s funny to me how one new item can transform a whole room!! so fun!)
God’s Word, alive…building up…speaking…
purchasing a pool pass for the summer! (and hearing the kids squeal with delight when they realize what it is for!!)
