Have you ever wanted to read through the entire Bible? Have you ever gotten started and not been able to finish? This is the position I was in earlier this year…when I came across the plan to read the Bible through in 90 Days. I had SUCH a great experience reading through the Bible earlier this year, as you may remember. I am still excited about this huge accomplishment and want to encourage any of you that may be thinking about this as well!
The next round of readers will take off on July 5th. (You can sign up here!) As I look at this sign up blog post, as of right now there are already around 130 people wanting to read through the Bible!! AWESOME! I am not going to be reading at this time, but I will be mentoring a few of you that choose to read! By this, I just mean I will help encourage you and pray for you, by name, as you journey through the Bible. I am excited for everyone who will be experiencing this for the first time!!
Reading through the Bible this quickly is NOT the time for an in depth study of individual verses. Reading through the Bible in 90 days is not the time to do word study, either. A few people have asked why I would want to read through the entire Bible this quickly.
For me, especially since this was my first time through the entire Bible, it gave me such a wonderful overview of the entire Word of God…sort of a big picture, if you will. Reading through the Old Testament gave me such a more clear picture of the history of the Israelites and their journey into freedom and their many times of disobedience…and the big picture of God’s love, His mercy, His justice and redemption. I was able to read about Jesus birth, His life and His death through the Easter season. This made my Lent and Easter so much more meaningful.

I’m going to TRY to do it, Candace! You’ve inspired me. Since the arrival of the DLM, I’m in SUCH A SLUMP. I hope this will kickstart my devotional life again. 🙂

Sounds like a wonderful challenge. I will pray about it. The babies are due in September, so this may not be reasonable, but at what point is it with kids????
