“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3
You’ve heard it said that we are blessed to be a blessing. I mentioned that our sermon this past Sunday in church was excellent. Something else he said that I’ve really been pondering is that we should not be a reservoir of God’s blessings, but a channel.
I think we all know that hoarding is not a good thing. Usually when I think about hoarding, I think about physical items, clutter, wall to wall piles of stuff.
But, we can also hoard God’s blessings.
Just like this verse above from 2 Cor. 1:3 tells us, when God gives us comfort, He is also giving us the ability to comfort others. Blessed to be a blessing.
So I started thinking about all the many blessings in my life. So many blessings. I am so very blessed. But, am I blessing others with these blessings? Am I choosing to be a channel or a reservoir? Am I hoarding the blessings that God has so graciously bestowed on me? What are some ways that I can give more of the specific blessings God has given to me?
How can I bless someone today?

Thank you also for sharing my joy about Christopher’s marathon! ((((Candace))) You are a blessing to me today – in more ways than one!

Interesting thoughts. I’d never thought that I might be hoarding God’s blessings…
