“Thankfulness opens the door to My presence. Though I am always with you, I have gone to great measures to preserve your freedom of choice. I have placed a door between You and Me, and I have empowered you to open or close that door. There are many ways to open it, but a grateful attitude is one of the most effective.
Thankfulness is built on a substructure of trust. When thankful words stick in your throat, you need to check up on your foundation of trust. When thankfulness flows freely from your heart and lips, let your gratitude draw you closer to Me. I want you to learn the art of giving thanks in all circumstances. See how many times you can thank Me daily; this will awaken your awareness to a multitude of blessings. It will also cushion the impact of trials when they come against you. Practice my Presence by practicing the discipline of thankfulness.” ~ from Sarah Young’s Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence
Thank You, Lord, for these moments of joy…
worship music {good for my soul}
praying and hoping that same music blesses the One to whom we sing
that He can accept our gifts meant for Him and still bless us at the same time
more days at the pool
afternoon naps
staying close to Him {come near to Him and He will come near to you. James 4:8}
finding a bit of a better groove with 3 students {still not perfect, but we’ll take improvement!}
starting the week off with a meal plan
ice cream after a long, hot day
good times with old friends
new ceiling fans (doesn’t take much to please me, ha!)

ceiling fans are such a blessing!! (the one in my bedroom doesn’t work, and i live in texas heat!!)
i see myself in this list, too: the need for order/stability (aka meal plan), for the luxury of ice cream and poolwater, for worship music that feeds me even as it feeds him. yes, these are blessings.

Trust . . . my struggle, and how true that ingratitude is linked to lack of it.
Being thankful in the little things, like ice cream and new ceiling fans . . . isn’t that really where there is meaning? In recognizing that ALL good things are gifts to be grateful for!
