I have just finished up the Revelation study that Beth Moore recently put out, called Here and Now, There and Then. And wow. I have never studied Revelation before, so this left me with a lot of questions!! However, it also left me wanting to dig more…does anyone have any suggestions for me (books, resources) on studying Revelation??
“Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you. For, as I have often told you before and now say again with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.” Philippians 3:17-21
So, when I read Philippians 3:20 tonight, I was instantly reminded of the book of Revelation. In our closing session with the Beth Moore study this past week, she focused on the fact that this place here on earth is not our home. Sometimes we may feel like we don’t fit in, sometimes we wonder why on earth we’re here…and we have to remember this is not our home!!
I gotta be honest with you, friends. I’m tired of trying to fit in. I’m tired of worrying that I’m not in the “in” crowd. I’m tired of trying to look/sound/be/act like anyone else. I’m tired of wondering if I look out of place. I’m just tired.
God gave me a beautiful reminder, through this Revelation study, and now through this verse in Philippians. I’m not supposed to fit in with this world. With Christ, I am the in crowd. I am the apple of His eye. And, this earth is not my home. My citizenship is not here…I am a citizen elsewhere. (no wonder I don’t feel like I fit in anywhere here!)
Praise the Lord!! That gives me such joy, friends…I pray it does for you, too!!
Eagerly awaiting my Savior…

Hi Candace…A good teacher on Revelation is Dr. David Jeremiah. He makes it easy to understand and it is so interesting. He has a Radio program and a TV program called Turning Point. I have done the study with him from the radio years ago. Everyday for weeks and weeks he taught through Revelation.
“Escape the Coming Night” is one of his books, and another one is “What In the World Is Going On?” And he has many more wonderful books. They sell them at every Christian bookstore, or you can look him up online. He has Turning Point Ministries.
Have a great day with your family.
