Dear Hannah,I cannot believe you are turning 9 years old! I can remember 9 years ago, in early February, having lots of contractions and asking your daddy to start timing them. My contractions never led to labor, but I can distinctly remember the feeling of being SO excited to get to meet my first born child – you!! I wish I could go back and hold you as a newborn baby again! Your Nana and I used to dress you up on all your pretty new outfits and take pictures of you! I was so excited to have a baby girl!! You were so very loved and so very wanted!
Several years later we realized that even your birth was a sign of things to come…you were very stubborn and wanted to do things your own way! 🙂 That stubbornness has led to many ugly words between you and I, and for that I am so sorry! When you were younger, I was so clueless as to what to do with a screaming child! ha! I guess I am still pretty clueless when it comes to being a good mom!!
But, as you grow older, I am praying constantly that the stubbornness and strong willed personality you have will grow into a fierce love for Jesus. I pray that you will be strong in your love for Him and that you will allow Him to use you and mold you into the beautiful girl He created you to be.
You are turning 9 years old and we have been homeschooling for almost 5 years now! It is a JOY for me to be your mommy and your teacher!! We had had our good days and our bad days, but overall you LOVE school and are such a good student!! You love to go through the list of items that I have for you to do each day. Sometimes you even ask for more! 🙂
Right now, you are especially loving to learn about Helen Keller! You are enjoying the books about her so much and you are enjoying learning how to read and write in Braille! We are also reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe for the first time and each night you BEG for another chapter! That makes my heart so happy.
You also enjoy playing with Legos a lot! I love seeing what new creations you come up with! You have made nativity scenes, vehicles, dragons and much more! You are so creative!! If there is one thing that you would do on a daily basis it would be CRAFTS. I just can’t keep enough things for you to do around here! I love that you are so creative and that you love making things with your hands!
Hannah, I am so very proud to be your mommy and I am so proud of YOU. You are a very special and beautiful girl and God has such big plans for your life! He created you for a very special purpose and I can’t wait to see His plan unfold in your life! I am so blessed to be a part of it.

Oh Hannah, I can’t believe that you are 9 years old either! I do remember that night 9 years ago when you made me a Nana. I also remember seeing the ultra sound while you were in your mommy’s tummy. You jumped. I cried with joy, and never knew how much I could love someone who was not even born yet. You were prayed for and loved. You were the first, and always know that Nana loves you SO much. Have a Happy Birthday, and NO MORE BOOSTER SEAT!
