Yesterday as I was reading my Bible for Bible in 90 days, I came across 2 phrases in the book of Micah that literally jumped off the page at me. So, I thought I’d share them with you today!
These are verses I have read before, but for some reason, they seemed so much more important as I read them yesterday.
“He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8
The words that jumped off the page?
love mercy.
love mercy?
How do I love mercy? And, in my own life, does it look like I am loving mercy?
Then, I read these words:
“Who is a God like you,
who pardons sins and forgives the transgression
of the remnant of His inheritance?
You do not stay angry forever
but delight to show mercy.”
Micah 7:18
delight to show mercy.
Do I delight to show mercy? Ummm, usually not so much.
How do we delight to show mercy?
How do we love mercy?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!! God is pricking my heart with this truth today. I am chewing on these words and praying that He would remind me of how He has loved me with His mercy and how He has delighted to show me mercy. May I do so for others…

Wow, I have never noticed those words…to love mercy and be delighted to show it. I am so struggling with forgiving someone. I guess I have a long ways to go in loving mercy. I am sure that loving mercy and forgiving are somehow entwined.
