With a TABLECLOTH!! That should actually read, “my wonderful and awesome HUSBAND recovered our dining room chairs!!” 🙂 WITH A TABLECLOTH!
So, a few weeks ago I came across this awesome idea found here. I immediately thought, “we could so do this!!” Thankfully, hubby agreed. 🙂
And, since our dining room chairs have been through nearly 11 years of marriage, 3 kids, many meals and many spills…they looked like this:
Niiiiiiiiiiice.
So, I went to our local TJ Maxx/Home Goods (my favorite store in the whole wide world.) and I picked out a pretty table cloth. The blogger where I found this idea used vinyl, which I think is an AWESOME idea, however our store didn’t have any choices in vinyl that really appealed to me. And, honestly, all the fabric ones weren’t the best selection either. But, anything is better than what they looked like before! 🙂 The tablecloth I bought is an indoor/outdoor tablecloth, which I am hoping means that spills will be a little easier to wipe off.
All you have to do is unscrew the seat cushions from your chairs and get going!
You start off by cutting a square of fabric out with enough to pull up around the edges of your cushions.
You will need a trusty staple gun. Just pull the fabric tightly and start stapling!! The corners are a little trickier, but just pull them as tight as you can!
Then you just screw the seat cushions back into the chairs and voila!
And now, look!! Don’t these look fabulous!! I am kind of wishing I had chosen a pretty, bright fabric…but this color is really a darker khaki than it looks in the picture…and I suppose it will go with everything now and in the future!
So easy. So cheap. LOVE.
