Yesterday we prayed for our kids weaknesses. Today I want to focus in on their strengths, their God-given gifts and abilities.
First and foremost, my prayer is that my children will receive these talents as gifts from God and nothing of themselves. My prayer is that they will always use these gifts for His glory and not their own.
Think about the gifts and talents your children display.
- Musical talents
- art
- writing
- sports
- humor
- sensitivity to others – mercy
- dance
- loves animals
- loves the elderly
- teaching
- math
- the fruit of the spirit – certain fruits that are more evident in their lives
Now, take a few moments and look in the concordance for verses that apply to your child’s gifts. Now, you may not find a verse in the Bible for gymnastics of softball. But, you can still pray Scriptures about your child giving glory to God through all things!!
“Dear Lord, may my child do whatever you have called them to do for Your glory. Whether they are eating, drinking or whatever they are doing, may they do it all for the glory of Your name.” (1 Cor. 10:31)
“Precious Father, remind my children that their greatest gift is You. You in us is the best gift of all. Thank You. You are the hope of glory in my children’s lives. May they ever live to show others the hope we have in You.” (Col. 1:27)
