This week’s reading had us in Leviticus. This is one of the harder books for me to read each time. But, this time, the Lord was gracious…and He reminded me several times of the look we get at JESUS even in the Old Testament! I love it when words, passages, stories point us to Jesus long before He was ever born!!
“If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to offer a male without defect.” Lev. 1:3
“Every grain offering you bring to the Lord must be made without yeast…” Lev. 2:11 (the yeast represented sin as a fungus/mold. It grows in bread just like sin can grow in our lives.)
“The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the Tent of Meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering…” Lev. 4:7 (I’m not trying to play theologian or anything, but as I read that the rest of the blood would be poured out, I thought of Jesus and His blood poured out for me on the cross.)
Isn’t God’s Word amazing??
