My little brother and his wife, and their 3 sweet little ones are moving to Guatemala on MONDAY!!
I wanted to share about them here on my blog because I know there are some of you that will pray for them! And that means so much to us!
My brother’s wife grew up in Guatemala where her parents started the ministry, Hearts for Heaven. Her parents have been officially “retired” for a few years now and my brother and Rachel felt led to go down to be the full time missionaries there now!
As a part of their ministry down in Guatemala, they have had to raise ALL their own support that they will be living off of. This is a huge task. I admit, at the start of their fundraising, I didn’t know if they would ever get enough funds to actually live on.
My husband and I have taken on the task of receiving all the support checks and keeping track of the bank account, as well as any mail that comes in for them comes to our home address. So, we have seen each and every check come in the mail.
Let me tell you, my brother’s calling to Guatemala has increased my faith.
Just by checking the mail everyday. 🙂
I have been blown away to see how each little, individual check adds up to be enough for them to live on! I am sure that each monthly supporter feels that they aren’t doing enough, I have felt that way myself! You think that sending $10 or 20 a month to someone can’t really help that much, right?!?
It truly does add up. God has grown my faith and caused me to see Him in a new light through this fundraising stage. I have prayed for God to provide. And, knowing He is faithful, I haven’t been faithful to believe myself. But, God is still faithful regardless of our lack of trust, amen!!!
I am going to miss seeing my brother, his wife and their 3 little sweeties on a regular basis. And for sure, my mom is going to miss squeezing those grandbabies! And this is her baby leaving the country!! But, I am so beyond happy for them. I am overjoyed that God is using them in this way. I can’t wait to get down there and visit!!
As we have prepared for their moving, the song By Faith by the Getty’s has come to mind time and time again. I think it perfectly describes what God can do with our little bit of faith. We are called to walk out this life by faith…and I’m so proud of my brother and his family be a living example of this walk.
