It seems so easy to be thankful at Christmas time. So many gifts. Christmas carols, trees, lights, church services…but even as I name these gifts, I am mindful that these things really aren’t the best gift of all. I am mindful that God gives these little gifts because He loves us, but the best gift of all is Jesus. I pray that I never lose sight of the Giver of these gifts. I pray that these gifts never take the place of Jesus in my celebrations. I pray that my heart remains devoted to God as the Giver and the Gift.

for each and every family…for each and every hero in Newtown. There will be many heroes. I’m thankful for those that will be the hands and feet of Jesus for those of us around the world who cannot be there in person. We send our prayers.
