Intermediate Language Lessons {curriculum review}

We were privileged to review and try out a language arts program that is based on Primary/Intermediate Language Lessons by Emma Serl! If you’ve been a long time reader here on my blog, you may know that I used Primary Language Lessons with both of my girls in their early elementary years! We love the gentle, Charlotte-Mason approach.

So, I was thrilled to be able to try out these new printable pages that were created to be used just like Primary or Intermediate Language Lessons – but with pages you can just print off and use! The author, Cynthia Albright, has put these lessons straight from Emma Serl’s lessons into workbook format.

With these workbooks, Primary Language Lessons is broken up into 2 parts: part 1 for 2nd grade, part 2 for 3rd grade. We reviewed the Intermediate Language Lessons which are broken up into 3 parts for grades 4, 5, and 6. I started my girls on the grade 4 equivalent, Intermediate Language Lessons part 1.

It is a very affordable language arts program! Each level is $8.95 (for the downloadable pages you will print from your printer) or you can purchase a 3-level bundle for $24.

Overall, we enjoyed this language arts curriculum. Much like the original texts by Emma Serl, we skipped over the memorization sections just because we memorize so much as a part of our daily routine. But other than that, these lessons are fabulous and I’m thankful to have been introduced to them!
