Last week I shared the first portion of our Sunflower art project based on Van Gogh’s famous painting. Today I want to share the finished results! I cannot tell you how excited I am about this art class I’m teaching. To be honest, it is surprising me how much I’m enjoying it. I think teaching this art class is lighting a fire in me…KIDS NEED ART. God is the ultimate creator and kids truly need to be creative. I shared this with my co-op parents…but, PLEASE let your kids get messy and create!! 🙂 There, off my soap box for now.
For the first part of the lesson, we observed sunflowers and DREW them in a vase with a PENCIL. That’s it. {We also read a great children’s book on Van Gogh and looked at some of his famous works, click over to that first lesson for all the details.}
The second part of the lesson, I let the kids choose Oil Pastels or watercolor paints. I had a few choose both! And I love that they asked if they could use both! 🙂
 Ya’ll. I’m telling you. I just can’t get over how awesome these sunflower projects turned out!! Didn’t they do an amazing job?
If their artwork is not proof…that ANYONE can teach art, I don’t know what is! Especially with the help of Pinterest. 🙂
