For the past 3 years I have started off the year showing you pictures of my Project Life albums. This year will be no different. π
But, I do want to add a little bit more personal information about how I’ve used Project Life this year because it’s been a bit different than past years. The first 2 years I did Project Life (2011, 2012) I kept them up monthly, for the most part. And it was awesome!
This past year, though, in 2013, I started my book and never.even.touched.it til December 30th!! HA!! d
But, honestly, I share this because I wasn’t worried about getting it caught up at all.
I spent ONE DAY (and only part of that day) getting caught up and FINISHING my 2013 album! That is the beauty of Project Life, friends!!
My secret for getting pictures printed: ONLY print when you see a special. This week I printed at walgreens for 100 pics/9.99. Sometimes Snapfish and Shutterfly offer 100 prints for .01 each or something crazy…I ONLY PRINT when I see these deals! And at those times, I print a LOT. Β I leave my pictures in a little basket until I’m ready to slide them into the Project Life album. {I follow Jessica at The Mom Creative in my feed so I always see when there are picture deals out there, she is great to post deals consistently on photo printing.}
I do not have a scrapbooking space in my home. I just have my albums on bookshelves and my cards/pens in a basket…the extra pages that come in a nice, flat box, I slide on the shelf next to my album until I’m ready to use them. Seriously. I don’t need a scrapbooking space for Project Life!
Ok, one more thing and then I’ll be quiet and just show you pictures. π
I’m not trying to convince you to try Project Life because I’m hoping you’ll buy through my affiliate links. π Yes, that would be a wonderful, nice bonus!! But, truly…
I think it is important to capture & record your FAMILY STORY.
And, for most of us, if we don’t do it, no one else will!! Someday, I will be SO thankful that I took a few hours/days to put these pictures into albums. Your children and grandchildren will thank you. Really. It’s important.
This year I am using the Kraft EditionΒ from Project Life.
I thought it would be fun to share a video with you that I took of my 2014 album so far…you can see all that is included and my first page as well as a glimpse of the new Holiday Mini Kit!
Here are a few pictures of my Project Life pages from years past in case you are curious.
A christmas page from 2011
My title page from 2012 ~
One of my favorite pages from a mission trip I went on!
Β My title page from 2013 ~ Olive Edition
Title Page for 2014 ~ Kraft Edition
ALL you need for ONE album:
Core Kit {choose ONE} ~ my favorites right now are Kraft Edition, Blush Edition, Coral Edition
Album {choose ONE that matches your Core Kit} ~ Seafoam Album, Honey Edition Album, Olive Edition AlbumΒ {you can mix and match kits with albums, just choose a color you like!}
Plastic Pages {choosing a mixture of pages is my preference} ~ Big Pack of Design A (60 Pages)Β (a big pack would be enough for an entire year!) or a mixture: Big Variety Pack 1 (60 Pages)
More options:
- Childhood Mini Kit – Mayfield EditionΒ – these childhood mini-kits are ADORABLE!! I want one of each! π Basically you could add these in with ANY kit you are already using!!
- Holiday Mini KitΒ – another mini-kit that you could add in with whatever else you are using, having ready-made Christmas, Halloween, Easter cards — yay!!
- Baby Edition for HimΒ – I got this for my brother and SIL when they had their first baby in 2013 and she loves it! π I wish I had all my baby books in Project Life kits…and have contemplated going back to re-do them all. (Here are more pictures of my SIL’s baby boy album)
- Project Life Mini Kit, WeddingΒ – know someone getting married this year? PERFECT gift!! Either a full set (like listed above) or a mini-kit like this wedding mini-kit!! Love!

Thank you for sharing these! I am probably going to do this! It looks way less time consuming than scrapbooking, but the same idea and fun of it! <3
Candace says
Stacey, you’ll have to let me know if you try it!! I think you’ll LOVE it!! And yes, WAY less time…
Michele White says
I love hearing your voice! It’s neat to know what you sound like. And I love the idea of this, I really do. I know my kids would love to see all the pictures of our family’s life in a real album instead of just digitally. But I’m afraid that this would become just one more thing I haven’t completed π
Candace says
Michele, isn’t it fun to hear voices of friends far away!?!? I agree!! I kind of had a little cold doing this and contemplated doing it again…but I also didn’t realize I could talk about Project Life for FIVE MINUTES. LOL!! So, I decided to go with it. π Thanks for stopping by…
Pam Barnhill says
Oh I have wanted to do one of these since they first came out. Still not sure that this is the year, but I am so tempted. I almost took Becky’s class at Big Picture this month, but too much other stuff going on. Maybe you will inspire me to get an album and get it done!
Pam Barnhill says
And your pages are lovely, BTW.
Candace says
Pam, thank you!! And, I’ve never had one of Becky’s classes…but Project Life is SO simple and SO amazing. When you finally come to your senses and order, you’ll be SHOCKED at how quickly you can put together an album. π Just teasing, friend!! π Let me know if you do decide to go for it…

These look amazing! And simple. Win, win. I may have to consider this because I tried to scrapbook once. I made two really lovely pages. 5 years ago. We have since added two children. LOL Although, I did get pictures taken of child #2 after his birth and created a birth announcement AND mailed them out after the birth of child #3…so I’m getting better π
My husband was saying he wanted (me) to start keeping photo albums every year so I will definitely have to show him these. Thanks!
Candace says
Heather, let me know if you try it!! π I’m amazed every time I pull it out at how EASY it is to catch up. π
