Happy Monday morning, friends! I love reading these daybook posts from some of my favorite bloggers…so I’m going to try to bring back this little meme for you here every other week or so. I think it will be a great place to share with you little tidbits that don’t really deserve a whole post. 🙂 But, things I still want to share with you! I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I do! And in case you’re totally curious, like I would be, 2 of my favorite bloggers that share daybooks regularly are Elizabeth Foss and Sarah at Amongst Lovely Things!
God’s Glory Outside My Window
cold, cold, cold. We have had record lows here! But, I’m so thankful for our warm home and electricity. My brother and his family in Indiana were without power for several days with negative temps!!
Giving Thanks
Kids playing in the snow…despite freezing temps! And with cousins and friends, to boot! Thankful for the children on our street…
In The Schoolroom
Memorizing Stopping By Woods by Robert Frost, learning the hymn Whiter Than Snow {perfect timing, yes?} Also we are a week into our Winter Olympics and Ancient Greece study! Loving it and loving the Chalk Pastel Tutorials for Winter Olympics also!
From The Kitchen
I created a list of 20 meals that our family enjoys, and quite honestly, meals that weren’t too difficult to make…and I’ve been using this and sticking to it for about 10 days now!! SO exciting! I *need* a menu plan to be more diligent in the kitchen.
Around The Home
So far, still pretty clean from Christmas. But, I know we need to step it up in the daily upkeep category.
On My Nightstand
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain ~ loving this book!! If you’re an introvert – or married to one – I highly recommend this book!! I’m breathing big sighs of RELIEF as I read it!!
Say Goodbye to Survival Mode: 9 Simple Strategies to Stress Less, Sleep More, and Restore Your Passion for Life ~ loving this book also. This book is really helping me put feet to my word of the year, so to speak! I’m writing down concrete goals, making routine type lists…this book is really good for me because those things don’t seem to come naturally to me anymore like they used to, pre-children. 🙂 I don’t know what happened…I used to be so organized. LOL!
Speaking of Jesus: The Art of Not-Evangelism – this book came highly recommended to me by the family who leads our small group. I almost always love their book recommendations, so I’m anxious to get deeper into this book.
Clicking Around
Oh so much good out there to be found!! Did you see Sarah’s link up of your MOST ever clicked post!! I typed up this daybook before I realized her link-up was closed – so you can’t add your link, but you can go find some pretty popular blog posts to read!! And she will have a different bloggy type link up each month! A new-to-me blog, Julie’s Nurturing Learning, has a series on poetry that is reigniting my love for poetry. I need to do more with it in our homeschool! Finally, Brandy has a lovely talk on memory work that I loved and lots of awesome Charlotte Mason posts on her blog!! A wealth there! {Click on Memorization and the Soul for her talk on this subject.}
Pondering
How to do all that I feel is important in our homeschool. I know I CAN’T do it all…but there are some things that are not negotiable…and I think I need to revise or at least revisit what those are and how we can homeschool simply, yet meaningfully.
Prayerfully
My heart can’t stop thinking about the homeless in all of this weather. Praying…I have several friends who work with these folks and the shelters and the town nearby where our church is doesn’t have any shelter or warming station right now. Ugh.
Plans For The Coming Week
Finally getting back to co-op! We missed a week due to snow and we are anxious to go back!

A Few Picture Thoughts
I was trying to take a few pics with my new zoom lens. Still need a little practice. But this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to getting good pictures of my winter birds at my feeder. I LOVE Winter birds in the snow!!
Can you see Mrs. Cardinal hiding in this picture below?? 🙂
I love the tufted titmouse/mice that come to our feeders! those and the black capped chickadees are probably my favorite!!
Of course, we also love Mr. Woodpecker!!
Have a great week, friends!!
