God’s Glory Outside My Window
cold, cold, cold. MORE record lows! We finally did have some snow…beautiful, light, powdery, GLITTERY snow!! Of course we took off a few school days (with the rest of East TN) to enjoy it! And then being in Gatlinburg for Hannah’s birthday was AMAZING…the snow covered trees were GORGEOUS!! I just couldn’t stop taking pictures! 🙂 You can see the fog on the smokies in the first picture and then the ski slopes located at Ober Gatlinburg where we ice skated.
Giving Thanks
birthdays will be the theme through the end of April at our house. 🙂 First up, Hannah turned TWELVE!!! How is that possible?! So thankful for my first born through whom the Lord has taught me so much and shown so much grace.
In The Schoolroom
Memorizing How Do I Love Thee? by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, learning the hymn O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go {perfect love choices, yes?} Also we are several weeks into our Winter Olympics and Ancient Greece study! Loving it and loving the Chalk Pastel Tutorials for Winter Olympics also!
From The Kitchen
I shared my top 20 easy meals in my last day book and I may just write up a blog post sharing my favorite fast, yet healthy meals for homeschool moms that don’t like to cook! LOL! I’m sure it will be a big hit. ha!
Around The Home
Whew. I feel like last week was the first “normal” week we’ve had in a few months. Every time we get a few good days in a row, then something happens…sickness, holidays, birthdays…trying to just keep up!
On My Nightstand
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain ~ loving this book!! If you’re an introvert – or married to one – I highly recommend this book!! I’m breathing big sighs of RELIEF as I read it!!
Clicking Around
My IRL friend, Denise, shares a series that I adore on living life Uncluttered. Here is part 1, make sure you click over for parts 2 and 3 also. Sarah has started her big series on Teaching from a State of Rest. Such encouragement here.  Mystie is sharing about how to find great deals at Audible. I had a membership at one time but just couldn’t pay the monthly fee. What about you all? Do you enjoy Audible? I love audio books in the car because I feel like we’re getting something great accomplished in what would otherwise be wasted time. 🙂 Still looking for last minute Valentine ideas? Pam shares several for upper elementary crowd! My friend Kendra and her husband had a homeschooling podcast! Last week’s podcast on girls was EXCELLENT. I applaud their bravery in confronting some of lack-of-gospel ways we have been raising our girls in the homeschool community. I encourage you to listen!Â

Pondering
If we’re friends on Facebook you’ve noticed I’ve been reading all kinds of things on my personality {INFJ} and how to homeschool with this particular personality type, how to help maintain my children’s friendships when mom doesn’t like driving all over creation every day, how to find time for quiet for myself, etc etc. Still pondering, still creating goals to help with this, slowly but surely I’m accepting who God made me to be. 🙂 I’m reading some interesting books on this topic, too, which I hope to share with you all soon.
Prayerfully
Praying that I would love Jesus more than anything else in this world…and that my kids would see that in me. I fall so short so often…

I miss the snow so much!!! We just moved from AK to SC. We thoroughly enjoyed those inches of snow the SE received. I didn’t know they had a skating rink in Gatlinburg. Sweet!! We need to go hit that! I also love that you guys are learning hymns in school. Do you have the 366 Amazing Hymns devotional? You have inspired me to begin going through that with the kids for devotions. One per week and we can learn them as well. 🙂

Just stopping by to say hi! I wanted to thank you for your transparency…it inspires me to do the same and follow the Lord’s leading in my writing. I do love the daybook meme/idea and may have to “borrow” it!
