“Life and death are in the power of the tongue…” Proverbs 18:21
Have you noticed how quickly you can become deflated or discouraged when you hear something negative come out of your own mouth or someone else’s? Most of us even have deep beliefs about ourselves that may stem from words we heard many years ago.
And have you also noticed that when a kind word is spoken to you that your entire day can be made brighter?
Most of us have found the power of the truth of Proverbs 18:21 but we don’t always live it. Sometimes the negative, critical cycles in our own minds keep us from living our best lives.
Learning to THINK about whatever things are true, noble, lovely and right (Philippians 4:8) is HUGE. And then, let’s not stop with what we meditate on, let’s also SPEAK words of life and truth and love.
Join me beginning September 1st as we spend 30 days SPEAKING LIFE and TRUTH over our own lives and over the lives of our family members. Each day we will have one truth or Scriptural affirmation to read, pray, meditate on and SPEAK.
I encourage you to read these verses and pray through them.
For Example
Day 1 states, “I am loved.” from Romans 5:8.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
So, my prayer might look like this:
“God, thank You for demonstrating Your love for me by sending Jesus even while I was a sinner, to die for me. Thank you that You love me unconditionally. Remind me that I am loved when I feel unloved by others.
Also, remind my child that she is loved. Remind each of my children that nothing can separate them from Your love. Amen.”
