“Worship: to show reverence, honor, devotion, adoration.”
This definition of worship challenges me. We all worship something. Think about how you spend your time, your money, your devotion. You may have even sat in a “worship service” this morning without ever truly worshipping.
Worship is not just a song, a stance, lifting your hands, or doing good acts. (It can be!) But at its core, worship is something deeper.
Jesus said that if you love God you will obey Him. (John 14:15)
That’s a whole new layer of how we view worship. Worship as obedience?! That changes everything.
Now ask yourself: what are you really worshipping?

Worship Is A Heart Matter
At the end of the day, worship isn’t about outward actions—it’s about the heart.
What are we truly devoted to?
- Pleasing ourselves?
- Or pleasing God?
These are convicting thoughts I’ve been wrestling with today.
A Question for You
How can you worship Him in spirit and in truth today?
Does this definition change how you view worship?
