I got out of bed, poured a cup of coffee, grabbed my Bible, and set my phone to the side.
♡ I read the daily portion for my assignment. Check. ✓
♡ And then I picked up my phone. I opened Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
Immediately, the Holy Spirit pricked my heart with conviction.
I gently heard the conviction of the Lord, “Do you want to mindlessly scroll or know Me?”
♡ Do I want to be caught up on the latest news or KNOW HIM MORE?
♡ Do I want to numb my mind to the burdens of my heart or KNOW HIM MORE?
♡ Am I seeking easy, instant-gratification entertainment to avoid responsibility or to avoid dealing with my stuff?
♡ Do I want to see the latest in someone else’s life, which also leads to jealousy and discontent, or do I want to KNOW HIM MORE?
♡ Am I looking for a moment of (fake) peace and a momentary dopamine hit, or do I want to KNOW HIM MORE?

I realize the irony that I originally typed out these thoughts on social media. But the truth is bigger than the platform — it’s a heart check we all need.
I am not writing this from a place of judgment; I’m writing these words as a means of confession and encouragement.
Friends, we say we want to know Him, but we pick up our phone instead of our Bible. We say He is a priority in our lives, but we don’t show that with how we spend our time or our thoughts.
So, I challenge you… prayerfully read this and then decide if it’s for you or not. Maybe it’s not for you; that’s between you and the Lord. I am not your Holy Spirit! I’m just sharing from a place of what He is showing to me.
If it is for you, humbly repent, put down your phone, and open your Bible. Pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you are reading. If you need a place to start, read a psalm a day or read through the book of John, a few chapters at a time.
Scriptures to Hold Onto

[Matthew 4:4]
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
