“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” [Psalm 136:1]
I love the word steadfast.
I think it’s because I realize how very much I am not steadfast.
Not much of this world is.
Things shift quickly. Circumstances change. Our emotions? All over the place.
But the love of the Lord?
It is steadfast and true.
His love endures forever — not because of anything I’ve done.
Not because of my personality. Not because I’ve had a good day or a strong week.
His love for me is rooted in who He is, not who I am.
And that changes everything.
Today, I’m praising Him for that.
For the kind of love that doesn’t run out.
For the kind of goodness that doesn’t shift with the seasons.
I praise Him today for His steadfast love
