While we are focusing on cultivating gratitude in our hearts & homes, memorizing Scripture is a GREAT way to begin to fix our eyes on Jesus and take every thought captive to Christ.
This book that I’m reading, 40 Days to a Joy-Filled Life, is based on the passage from Philippians 4 that tells us what to think about.
I’m choosing to memorize starting in verse 4, with rejoice in the Lord always…but you can choose whatever you’d like to memorize!
The book reminds us that we have a CHOICE…
Do we want to be grateful or ungrateful?
Do we want to count our blessings or count our problems?
Think THIS and don’t think THAT.
So, what are the things we should think about? Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, excellent, praise worthy…think about such things!
Cultivate
Print off this verse as a visual reminder of the passage we are memorizing AND to remind our hearts what we should be thinking about! The book even suggests making a list! What can you fix your eyes and heart on that is true, noble, lovely, right, pure, excellent?
