We are LOVING our iPad and our iPod touches!! I just cannot even believe all the kid-friendly FUN and EDUCATIONAL apps that are available! I thought I’d share our favorites…and in the comment section, please let us know the apps that your family is enjoying!!
BOB Books!! – I have used these little beginning readers with all 3 of my kids and now there is an app for that! Yes, there is! 🙂 Caleb sometimes plays on this one while we are doing school!
Everyday Math – lots of math practice!!
Montessori Crosswords – this is another great one for beginning readers! Really, probably even 1st-2nd grade level reading and spelling practice.
Rocket Math – my kids really enjoy this – you get to create your own rockets as you progress through the math practice!
Simply Find It – this may not be what some consider educational, but for some reason my kids love this!! It is good practice for those difficult FINDING skills!! Noticing differences in 2 different pictures, things like that!
Stack the Countries – we first had Stack the States – now there is countries also!! great for world geography!!
Stack the States – great app for learning state locations and capitals!
Another great resource that I just recently found:
Moms with Apps — I found several of my educational apps on this blog, if you look at the tabs at the top, you can click on “apps for learning” or “apps for special needs” etc. **Be sure when you are checking out these apps that you read the REVIEWS for each app first, some of them are very new and are not worth purchasing at this point until some corrections are made!
What are your favorites? Leave me a comment and I will add your favorites to the list!

Thanks for the list! We love the Stack apps too. I also like the National Geo Bee app. Do you have a favorite times tables app? There are a lot out there and some are bummers. Been trying to find the “right” one for my 4th grade ds.

Hi, lots of people love Tam & Tao in Numberland which teaches kids to count. The graphics are great. It made the App of the Week in iHeartThisApp.
You can support your favorite apps by clicking the iHeart in http://www.iHeartThisApp.com – Stack the Countries, Stack the States, Rocket Math are already there.
