So, my friend Ami that I met at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum last week? Yes, she is the wonderful gal behind the Homeschool Share site that so many of us have come to love.
But, ya’ll. I still am hearing from folks that DON’T KNOW about this treasure!! So, maybe I should brag about it a little more often, ya think?? (I affectionately refer to Homeschool Share as HSS.)
First of all, the heart behind HSS. Ami (and her husband Jason) are so completely generous and their hearts are part of what makes HSS such a wonderful blessing. Their hearts are to be a BLESSING to the homeschool community by offering FREE (and wonderful quality) unit studies, lapbooks, printables and MORE on their website. You do not have to be a member. You do not have to pay a fee. You do not have to make a commitment to use only HSS, always HSS and forever HSS. You can use any HSS materials to complement what you use OR as full-blown unit studies. You can take bits and pieces that will work best in your home and not have to spend a dime. 🙂
And ya’ll. If I can just brag on them a moment. It’s not that our stuff at HSS isn’t good enough to be sold. It is. They offer it for free because they WANT to be a blessing. They WANT to offer homeschoolers wonderful curriculum options without the cost.
Another aspect of the heart behind HSS is that many minds makes light work. There are so, so many moms out there – many of them with blogs you may read daily – that have contributed to the HSS wealth of treasure. Many of them are bloggers, but many of them are not…just living their lives as regular homeschool moms like you and me, contributing to the efforts of this website. Homeschool parents, each contributing their part, to make a wealth of resources available to each of us. Some have contributed research to unit studies, some have contributed graphic talents with lapbooking, some have contributed resources and funds for clip art, some have contributed pictures of their children enjoying HSS, some have contributed their organizational and writing skills…many minds does make light work.
Did you know there are Homeschool Share message boards? Oh yes!! The HSS message boards are really the best place to ask questions about ANYTHING HSS related – a link not working, how to use a certain unit study, even general homeschooling questions. You can post your questions or pleas for help even if you are not an avid HSS user. The ladies over there that are regular posters are SO helpful and have become like family. 🙂 Ami’s husband, Jason, a computer guru, is the brains behind this baby. 🙂 And, since I spent the day with he and Ami and their boys in Indy, I can safely say that he is the real deal. His heart is just as much a part of this as his computer guru brains. 🙂 He and Ami are just the best…
