I always try to start my mornings with a Psalm – that I read, meditate on, journal and pray through. I also read the daily devotion from Jesus Calling . {my favorite devotion book ever.}
Earlier this week as I was reading my Psalm, I came to a verse about praise. God prompted my heart to think on the benefits of praise. I continue to be amazed at how God blesses me when I choose to bless Him! Have you ever noticed that?? He is so good! And He is so worthy of our praise!!
Some benefits of praise that I thought of are:
- silences the enemy (psalm 8)
- takes our eyes off of ourselves
- inspires gratefulness
- worship
- gives glory to the only One who deserves it
- instills joy
- reflects the faithfulness of God
- focuses my mind on the positive and on things above
So, as we start a new week, I am giving praise to my Father! Not only for how He has blessed me, but for who He is. Counting my blessings and praising my Jesus…
