This past week we spent our time in the gospels. I love the gospels so much. I think we need to spend more time in the gospels, constantly searching out Jesus and lining our lives up with His. Constantly seeking what He would do. Constantly looking to Him for the answers and how to treat others.
I think my very favorite phrase in the gospels is:
“and He had compassion on them.”
I read it and highlighted it time and time again. And smiled each time I did.
I daresay that as believers, we need to do this a little more often!
Instead of the critical glance in the grocery store, have compassion on them.
Instead of the rude words at the other driver, have compassion on them.
Instead of letting heated words of anger slip out so quickly, have compassion on them.
Instead of looking down on others for their obvious sins, have compassion on them.
{I’m preaching to myself here, ya’ll.}
It’s how Jesus lived. It’s how I want to live.
