For the past few months, I have been keeping an audio book going in our van at all times. We aren’t “on the go” everyday…but for days we head to piano lessons (over an hour in the car) and soccer and church (and, and, and) it is WONDERFUL to get in some books!!
I have mentioned a few on our list of books the kids are reading this year, but I thought I would do a separate post because we are almost finished with the most wonderful audio book we’ve listened to yet. (in my opinion.) My friend, Ami, recommended this to me several times and we finally got it from our library!!
The English accent absolutely MAKES this story. Oh I just loved it.
A Bear Called Paddington (click on audible or audio cd version, I couldn’t get it to link to ONLY audio, so you have all the options on this page.)
We have listened to several thus far, and have a few others we have loved too. (there are a few that we haven’t loved, but I’ll just stick to sharing what we love!)
Island of the Blue Dolphins – this was the first audio book I chose and it was a hit! I wasn’t sure how Caleb would like it (typical 7yr old boy) as he has a hard time sitting for ANY reading. But, I guess being in the car he didn’t have anywhere to go! ha! But we liked this and he enjoyed it, too! He asked lots of questions about the book as it went along. I think he enjoyed it because it was a survival story. We heard about building fires, creating weapons, shark’s teeth, etc.
My Side of the Mountain – this was another survival story we loved!!
What are your favorite audio books? We need a new one to listen to now!
