Eight years ago I became the mom of a boy. Oh how we love our girls…but there is something very different about having a boy after having 2 girls! I can still remember tears of joy at our 20 week ultrasound when they told us it was a boy! I wanted a boy for my husband as much as anything. What I didn’t know was how a boy would change me. Caleb made me a better mom. I learned things with him that I wish I had known 3 years earlier with his big sister. But, God’s ways are not our ways…and I continue to thank God for the blessing of Caleb every single day.
At 8 years old Caleb loves…
jumping on the trampoline ~ especially with friends/cousins who will wrestle with him
minecraft
anything orange
sticks, ropes, rocks, dirt, nails, hammers
wrestling with daddy
breadsticks (not pizza)
not much school related. at all!
guns, bullets, bows & arrows, weapons of any sort
bugging his sisters
making us laugh
being outside
Happy Birthday, Caleb David! You are an answer to this mommy’s prayers and such a joy to my heart!

I know what you mean when you say there’s something different with having a boy. I feel the same with my son, born after 3 girls, and he’s only one year old. 🙂

Happy Birthday! What you said is so true. I am so much more laid back with my boy (even though he’s two) that I have been with the girls and I think they would benefit from that as much as he does!
