I have just recently been introduced to this fabulous fine arts resource for homeschool families!!
Classical Composers Monthly is a fantastic resource for doing composer & artist studies. This resource was put together by Erica Johns and her son, Micah, after homeschooling for years and not finding an affordable way to study composers and artists! I happen to love products that are created by other homeschooling moms, because usually this means they have seen a need and created a product to fill that need. Lots of times I have that same need for our homeschool! Not to mention, I love supporting other homeschooling families!
In a nutshell, Erica has searched the web for the greatest links, worksheets, videos and resources for each composer or artist and put it in ONE PLACE for the rest of us!! Fabulous! When you subscribe to Classical Composers Monthly, you will receive an email one time per month that includes access to all the resources for a new composer or artist!
When you are studying one particular artist or composer, you will land on a page for that person and see the following:
- videos of their music & sample paintings from artists
- a photo of the artist/composer
- biographies to click on and read
- printable timeline project
- podcasts & articles from around the web
- worksheets from around the web
Here is a FREE sample on the composer Handel, if you would like to take a peek at a typical page!
And here is a FREE sample of the artist study on Monet.
Nitty Gritty: a lifetime subscription to this site for ONE collection (includes 13 composers) is $14.95. You can also purchase a mixture of composers and artists for $14.95.
This sounds wonderful!
