10 Favorite Women’s Bible Studies

For as long as I can remember, doing Bible study with other sisters in the Lord has been a tremendous blessing in my life. I am blessed to be in a fairly large church where we have multiple opportunities to meet with one another and study God’s Word. If you aren’t involved in such a place, I encourage you to even find ONE friend {even an online friend!!} that you can study with. The accountability and encouragement will go a LONG way in deepening your time in God’s Word! When it comes to FAVORITE women’s Bible studies, it was pretty hard for me to narrow it down, really I think every study I do is my favorite at the time.

Here are some of my favorite Bible studies for women I have done over the years, in no particular order.

Favorite Women’s Bible Studies

Children of the Day: 1 & 2 Thessalonians by Beth Moore (If you can find a group to do the DVD sessions with, they are SO worth it! DVD SET By Beth Moore 2014) — this is the study I am currently finishing up from a summer Bible study session at church. Honestly, I have never done a Beth Moore study that I haven’t loved. I have never studied 1 & 2 Thessalonians in depth before, so this was wonderful to look deeper into a new book of the Bible. 

One in a Million: Journey to Your Promised Land by Priscilla Shirer — I love Priscilla’s teaching, so her DVD’s are wonderful too: One in a Million – DVD Leader Kit – I love this study on the Israelites in the wilderness!

James: Mercy Triumphs (Member Book) and the DVD set: James: Mercy Triumphs (DVD Leader Kit) — I sound like a broken record, but studying James was also another favorite. I love that book anyway, so looking at some of my favorite passages and studying them more in-depth was wonderful.

Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman (DVD set: Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman (DVD Leader Kit)) — this study introduced me to Esther in a way I had not seen before. LOVED all of the characteristics of women and the truths that go along with each characteristic, pointing us to Jesus. Every woman should do this study!!  

Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break Member Book (Living Room) (DVD series: Nehemiah: A Heart That Can Break DVD Leader Kit (The Living Room Series) — I actually learned about Kelly Minter on Beth Moore’s blog, I believe! I have done several of her studies, but this one on Nehemiah is my favorite of hers! I loved taking a look at the man Nehemiah, because I had never studied him before. Through this study there is an emphasis on missions, prayer and helping the needy around the world.

Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, Member Book (DVD series: Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent DVD Set By Beth Moore) — So, if you’ve read my blog long or know me in real life, you probably already know that the Psalms are my FAVORITE book of the Bible. So, it’s no surprise that I loved this study from Beth Moore also!!

Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World Study Guide: Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life (A 10-Session Series for Personal Or Group Study) (DVD series: Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World DVD Study Pack: Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life) — This book really was good for me several years ago when I had little children and was struggling with being home all the time with young children who are so needy.  🙂

Workbook: Unglued Participant’s Guide: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions DVD series: Unglued Participant’s Guide with DVD: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions — this is another book/study every woman should do!! I don’t know about you, but I have quite a few unglued moments. 🙂

DVD series: Restless DVD Based Study Kit: Because You Were Made for More Workbook: Restless Study Guide: Because You Were Made for More — this study by Jennie Allen is for every person out there who questions their calling, or even IF they are called. Feeling restless with where you are in life? So many of us are discontent, this book and study will help you find where your gifting meets the need around you.

Me, Myself, & Lies: A Thought-Closet Makeover (Bible Study Workbook) (DVD series: Me Myself & Lies DVD Leader Kit: A Thought Closet Makeover) — this study by Jennifer Rothschild is on a topic that I have struggled with for many years – my thoughts! The negative in my head has been soooo hard to get a hold on. This study is great for taking a look at what is in our mind and why, as well as Scriptural truths to battle the negative thoughts we have.

Friends, these are just my favorites that I’ve done. The important thing is to BE IN THE WORD. I constantly need the renewing and transforming of my mind. I need the encouragement and comfort that only the Lord and His words can give. I need to hear His voice when sometimes I’m unsure of what I’m hearing. When I’m in His Word and communing with the Father, He fills me with such peace. These books are just TOOLS to get us digging deeper…the most important thing is to just open that Bible and start reading. No plan? No worries! Read a Psalm a day. A proverb a day. Read one gospel in a month. Don’t make it too hard, just make it a point to dig in. I shared here about how God has ministered to my heart this summer through His Word. He is faithful!
