5 Day Cleanse

I did it! I finished a FIVE DAY CLEANSE. Woo-hoo!! I had so many people asking about this cleanse that I decided to try and put as much information into one blog post as possible! If you have questions that I haven’t answered, please leave them in the comments section or message me!

When functioning properly, your body has a system in place for eliminating toxins and waste. However, recent shifts in the modern diet are placing an increasing Amount of strain on many systems and hinder your body’s natural ability to cleanse itself.

The goal of the 5-Day Nutritive Cleanse from Young Living is to temporarily reduce your intake of food, giving your body the time it needs to expel stored toxins, effectively “resetting” your digestive system for optimal functionality.

For me, this cleanse served the purpose of a RESET to get back to my good eating habits and MOTIVATION that I can conquer the bad habits! It also served to push me past my weight loss plateau! I lost a total of FIVE POUNDS while on this FIVE DAY CLEANSE. This cleanse, for me, was more than physical, however. It was mental and spiritual. I didn’t think I could do it. AND I DID. That is very empowering. It is good for us to have periods of time where we deny ourselves for whatever reason that may be. So this cleanse had several purposes for me!

5-Day Cleanse from Young Living

What is included:

  • Balance Complete – Superfood Meal Replacement Shake at $3.32 per serving/meal!  (blend 2 scoops of the shake powder with water, almond milk or your choice of liquid. I added a spoonful of natural peanut butter as well.)
  • Digest & Cleanse – soft gel supplement to support your body’s digestive system
  • Ningxia Red – is an energizing, proprietary blend of juice extracts, featuring pure essential oils, wolfberry puree, and other fruits to provide energy support.

How I Personalized This Cleanse

As you may know, I have been juicing for 1 meal off and on. I wanted to continue this because I feel like it gives my body so many vitamins and nutrients that I am missing otherwise in my diet.

So, for this 5 day cleanse, I did 2 of the Balance Complete Shakes in my blender per day and then I did 1 meal of juicing.

Juicing is NOT necessary. I just wanted to tell you exactly how I personally did this 5 days.

When I juice, I don’t follow a recipe. LOL!

Here is what I add in to my juicer:

  • Spinach (usually 1 entire tub of Organic Spinach)
  • 5-6 large carrots
  • 2-3 small apples
  • 2-3 small oranges
  • 1 lemon

If I make this amount I usually drink the bulk of it for supper and then (when I’m not on a cleanse) I will drink a small glass for breakfast the next day. Typically, fresh veggies and fruits juiced will not last long in the fridge without tasting weird. I find that 24 hours is too long. But I can have it for supper evening and then a small amount leftover for the next morning.

My Personal Notes from the Cleanse

  • Know your own body. After 2 days of mixing my shakes with MILK and a BANANA, I realized this wasn’t going to work for my body. The next 3 days I used water and then coconut milk for my shakes!
  • I added a spoonful of natural peanut butter to my shakes and it tasted REALLY GOOD. I think next time I might try the PB2 powder to avoid even more sugar.
  • I drank a lot of water during the cleanse too! Flush those toxins!
  • I also added in the Multigreen supplement in the afternoons. I take this regularly, but I kept taking it during my cleanse because I figured you can’t have too many greens! 🙂
  • I ate 1 serving of fruit on 2 different occasions during this cleanse. If you see this PDF plan, Young Living does recommend a snack of fruit or non-starchy vegetable!
  • I truthfully did not feel hungry. I found myself wanting to eat or munch or just CHEW FOOD. However, this is good for us…shows how food has a hold on us! Prayerfully this cleanse is helping to rid my body of addictions to sugar and certain foods!
