“O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings[b]
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!”
Psalm 8
Behold Your God
When we stop to take a look around us, to behold our God, to gaze upon Him, we cannot help but praise Him. We cannot help but proclaim, “Oh Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your Name in all the earth!”
He is the God of the universe. When we behold Him in all His glory, we are filled with awe and wonder. I don’t know about you, but I could use a little more awe and wonder in my life! Let’s look a little longer and Jesus today, friends.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.

Praying the Scriptures
God, You are majestic. When I look around and see the earth You’ve created I stand in awe of You. Help me to gaze upon You and Your beauty more than I gaze upon the things of this world. And You have shown me time and time again that when I take my focus off of myself and place it on to You, I am filled with Your peace that passes all understanding.

This post and the song remind me of one of my favorite Bible passages, Hebrews 12-1-3. Only as we look to Him, can we experience all that He is-peace, joy, wisdom, rest…

This was a gift of joy and confirmation from the Lord. That is because as I awoke and went about the beginning of my day, the Holy Spirit put that very song in my mind because I needed to look to Him and not some of the things that needed doing. Praise the Lord.
