Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. Psalm 119:97-98
Behold Your God
Can you truly say you love the law of God? Can you say that you love His Word and His commands? Can you see the beauty, not the restraint, in the words He has given us in Scripture?
If you cannot honestly answer “yes” to these questions, there is no guilt or condemnation for you, my friends! I want to offer a simple suggestion for those of you struggling to love God’s Word.
Ask. Ask God to grow in you a love for His Word. This is a prayer He loves to answer. Offer Him your heart, your time, your attempts. He will meet you there.
God is so faithful to meet us in the pages of His Word. The Holy Spirit comforts, convicts and encourages. Ask Him to help you.
The Psalmist says that he meditates on the law day and night. Make His Word your portion. Your sustenance. Your bread. And, as the Bread of Life, He will fill you beyond anything you could have experienced otherwise.
Praying the Scriptures
Lord, I long to love your Word and to love You with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. I am asking You to grow in me a love for Your Word that I cannot grow myself. I am asking You to do a work in me that will bring glory to You and peace and joy to my soul like nothing else.
