God’s Word tells us that when we are anxious about anything, to bring it to Him. He says to bring our petitions and requests to Him. He tells us to do so. I believe He wants us to do so.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Philippians 4:6-7 MSG
No matter what version you read this passage in, the message is clear: don’t worry; instead: pray.
The best part of this passage, though, is what comes next.
When you are anxious, take it to God. And take it to Him with thanksgiving. Let your request be made known to God. And then? And then, the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will GUARD YOUR HEARTS and MINDS in Christ Jesus.
Wow. I don’t know about you, but I need that peace and I need Christ to guard my heart and mind. Well, how do we get that peace? By spending time with the Creator of the universe. By taking our anxieties to Him and letting Him deal with it. By casting our burdens on Him because He cares for us. By relinquishing the control that we thought we had and letting God take over.
Prayer changes hearts. It changes us.

3 Years Off of Anti-Depressants
I would love for you to read an update now that I have been off all of my anti-depressants for 3 years and am thriving. God has been so good to me. My mindset has changed. My health has changed. We are never truly hopeless if we have Christ. We have the power of the Holy Spirit living within us giving us the power to make the steps necessary to BE TRANSFORMED.

Thanks so much for sharing this reminder that we are not to worry but should give all things to the Lord. Then we can simply rest in His care.

I am so thankful to God that I decided to open this email. I needed this so much at this very second!
My 26 year old son came home on April 29th after being at Teen Challenge for 26 months. Teen challenge is a christian recovery program.
My son has relapsed and is once again drinking.. I needed this reminder to pray and not worry!! God is HIS father and loves him more than I ever could.
I will put my trust in Him.
Thank you for posting this.
God Bless you……

I used to worry and stress all the time. All it did was make me physically sick. It didn’t change the outcome one way or another. Although I still worry from time to time, it’s way less than it used to be. I’ve learned, like you mentioned in your post, that it’s best to pray and give it to God.

Desperately needed this today. Feeling like the bottom has dropped out of my life, and I am exhausted in every way it’s possible to be exhausted. So thank you for this.
