One of my favorite passages on prayer…
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Just before that verse, in Phil. 4:5, God’s Word says that “the Lord is near.” This is such a great reminder and beautiful promise of comfort. He is near.
I have had a rough few days. I’m not sure where all the feelings of inadequacy are coming from. I’m not sure why one day I can feel totally at peace with things and the next day feel like I’m not going to survive one more minute. I guess it is the nature of the beast.
But one verse that I try to cling to tightly is 2 Cor. 12:8-10. Paul is pleading with God to take this “thorn” from his life.
But, God has allowed this thorn for a purpose.
And his reply, to Paul’s pleadings, is…”my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul decides to boast in this thorn, his weaknesses. Paul understands, and believes, that through his weakness, Christ is strong.
The power of Christ is made perfect in our weakness. I don’t understand it, but I’m thankful.
I don’t understand it, but God has allowed difficulties, struggles and disappointments into our lives for a purpose. And He says to me, “My grace is sufficient.”
His grace is enough. For me and for you.
Praying for you today, friends!
