Waiting isn’t usually at the top of our bucket list. We hate waiting for results at the hospital. We hate waiting in traffic. We hate waiting for someone who is late. We hate waiting in line. We hate waiting on dinner to finish cooking. We hate waiting.
But waiting on God is not like those things. Waiting on God never disappoints. In His sovereignty He has a good plan for our lives. Yes, we will suffer in this life, but we can trust Him to bring good from it. Do you trust Him?
When we wait on Him we choose to turn our worry to waiting. Look to Him. Sit with Him. Abide in Him.
And just like God’s Word tells us, as we wait on Him – not on our circumstances to change, not or someone else to change – but wait on HIM, He strengthen us.
It is as we sit with Him, even in the darkest moments, that He fills us, comforts us, strengthens us, and enables us to say, “It is well with my soul.”
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…”
Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart ; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Psalm 33:20-21 “Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted His holy name.”
