Dear friends, I am not a part of a church that celebrates the liturgical year and/or the Lenten season. However, the more I have been reading about Lent, the more I feel the Lord leading me in this direction. Alot of the resources I have found are from more liturgical settings: Catholic, Lutheran, etc. However, as I read through some of the prayers and scriptures I find that alot of it is non-denominational and very fitting for this season we are moving into. Lent is a 40-day season that ... Read More about Lent…and taking a break
Albert & Bird study!
Our unit study for the coming week is going to be FOR THE BIRDS! We are going to be doing a unit from Five in a Row, a book titled Albert, which is in FIAR vol. 4. She had a series of posts called Cultivating Spirituality in a Child. Under part 2, she mentions having your child read a portion of a book/Bible each day and gives some more instructions. I am using these ideas with Hannah. ______________________________ I had another question from a reader and I thought I'd share my answer in a new ... Read More about Bible in our Home

We talked about it this morning and began implementing today at lunchtime. I must admit, one of the biggest advantages to this chart is for ME. I end up very frustrated, and thus getting angry, in "the moment" because I often can't think of an appropriate consequence. This relieves that for me so much! I have already had to implement about 5 times today and so far ... Read More about Help me think of…
